"contacttango İstanbul Dance Company"

Established in 2008 by Erdal Atik and Nora Şigaher (isimler link olsun), “contacttango IDC” is a strong candidate for innovation in tango around the world.

“contacttango IDC” is an organization where academic work has been done; on both classic tango and modern dance inspired by tango forms, in addition to new generation tango enriched by “contact” improvisation techniques.

The purpose is to get tango dance and tango music more acquainted with the larger mass as it gets renewed and finds expression in diverse forms; to create an environment, upon which many different trends – contemporary and authentic – in tango can flourish.

Supporting new interdisciplinary trends in art, therefore gathering young people around the art of dance, demonstrating the power of art and culture in terms of human communication, are among the ideals that we have set ourselves as  “contacttango IDC”.
